Virtual Training Solution for Crew Training Operations
Intellia Crew Training Simulation Curriculum delivers true machine-to-machine interaction, enabling trainees to learn from weather shifts and collisions on a realistic jobsite. Multiple operators on different simulators share one heavy equipment simulator environment to coordinate excavation, hauling, and grading with tracked excavators, dozers, and articulated dump trucks (ADTs). Instructors retain full control to build teamwork skills without strictly defined scenarios.
Simulation Curriculum Features
Learning Outcomes
The Intellia Crew Training Simulation Curriculum features a training program shaped and validated by subject-matter experts. The exercise focuses on coordination, awareness, and decision-making across different equipment types and roles.
Key learning outcomes include:
- Learning to operate safely around other live operators on an active jobsite
- Sequencing tasks to reflect real-world production flows across excavation, hauling, and grading
- Identifying and responding to changing site conditions and operator actions in real time
- Demonstrating clear communication to coordinate material movement and machine positioning
Authentic Machine Behavior
Our simulation incorporates award-winning engineering-grade machine and material behavior for the most transferable operator skills outside real equipment.
When choosing simulation training for crew training, look for features that replicate real-world operation:
- Articulated dump truck blind spots: Visibility limitations vary based on cab position, machine geometry, and load, reinforcing safe positioning and situational awareness.
- Dozer track slip behavior: Traction loss and recovery change in response to operator input, terrain interaction, and load, affecting pushing consistency and control.
- Tracked excavator control standard switching: Control response and muscle memory expectations shift when switching between ISO and SAE standards during operation.
- Machine-to-machine interaction: Proximity, contact, and collision events create realistic effects on equipment positioning, task flow, and crew coordination.
- Weather effects on operations: Changing weather conditions influence surface behavior, visibility, and decision-making during coordinated tasks.
Why Does It Need to Be Engineering-Grade?
Avoid creating bad habits or unsafe shortcuts that could carry over to real-world operations. High-quality simulation training ensures trainees learn correct techniques from day one. When the simulator behaves like the real machine, trainees build confidence and skills that transfer directly to the jobsite, reduce risk, save time, and reinforce safe, effective practices from the start.
