Simulation offers a safer alternative for initial training while mitigating the increased fuel costs and equipment wear-and-tear that typically result from novice handling. Trainees can practice challenging real-world operations and complete safety, regardless of inclement weather or limited access to job site equipment. The simulator’s 30-foot boom truck has an anti-two-block warning system, can deploy outriggers before operation, and simulate the swing effect of the load, making it an ideal training tool for utility companies and lineworker training schools.
Trainees acquire important skills, including controls familiarization and load handling and improve cycle times. This simulation also includes a dedicated exercise to help trainees prepare for crane certification exams with beginner to advanced learning exercises and simulated real-world conditions.
The boom truck training pack is designed to teach skills and build confidence before moving on to the real equipment. When the solution is used in tandem with the optional instructor operating station, the trainer can in real-time trigger unexpected weather events to add complexity to the exercises, providing insight into operator progress.
