Simulation offers a safer alternative for initial training while mitigating increased fuel costs and equipment wear and tear that typically result from novice handling. Trainees can practice challenging real-world operations in complete safety regardless of poor weather or limited access to jobsite machines.
The simulated articulated 30-ton dump truck has an anti-lock system, automatic transmission, and hydraulic braking with engine brake. Trainees learn a range of skills that help improve their cycle times including controls familiarization, driving on difficult terrain, loading, unloading, and hauling.
Because expert operators work together on team-based tasks, we offer an optional add-on module for simultaneous tandem crew training with our excavator simulator. With these progressive learning exercises and simulated real world conditions, our simulator is designed to teach crucial skills from beginner to advanced, while building confidence before moving on to the real equipment.
When used in conjunction with Intellia Instructor, the trainer can trigger unexpected weather events to add complexity to the learning exercises. Key trainee performance metrics are tracked in real time. Organizations can customize their scoring system to reflect their criteria. Metrics such as fuel efficiency, cycle time, and safety violations provide insight to help operators learn quickly. As with all our simulations, the training pack is available for a variety of CM Labs simulators. Controls are quick and easy to swap out allowing training on a wide variety of our lifting and earthmoving simulations.
